- Before anything, shake the coconut to see if it contains water. If there is no typical sloshing sound, it is because the coconut is dry, in other words, overripe.
- make two holes in the eyes on the top of the coconut. This may be done with a hammer and nail or corkscrew.
- Pour the water into a glass.
- Saw the coconut.
- Separate the shell from the pulp using a hammer or place the coconut in a hot oven for a few minutes.
- Remove the brown skin from the pulp adhering to the pulp.
- Wash the pulp in running water.
