According to Premium Times, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has dared the Federal Government to carry out the alleged plot of preventing him from travelling out of the country.

“Under the federal system of government, state governors are not appendages of the President and as a leading opposition figure in Nigeria, he cannot be cowed by President Mohammadu Buhari and his agents,” Mr. Fayose said via a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

The governor, who reacted to reports that two governors, one from the Southwest and another from the South South had been placed on travel restriction on President Buhari’s order, said whenever he wished to travel out Nigeria, he would do so in the full glare of the public.

Dana Airline Flights Grounded As Pilots Go On Nationwide Strike

A disagreement with management over promised largess has snowballed into a strike action by pilots of Dana Airlines resulting in the suspension of normal flight operations today.

Scheduled flights have been disrupted with passengers booked to travel with the airline stranded at airports across the country.

At the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, announcements are made intermittently to communicate the development to customers waiting to board flights.

Boat Conveying 28 Passengers Capsizes In Lagos

A boat conveying 28 passengers has capsized in Ikorodu Area of Lagos State.

‎New Telegraph learnt that the incident occurred at Origin Jetty, Ikorodu few metres away from the jetty.

An official of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), who confined in New Telegraph, said the incident occurred when the ‎boat rammed into wooden logs on the waterway.

The Kaduna State Government has enacted a law that makes it a criminal offence for any one to buy from a street hawker, making both the hawker and the buyer liable to prosecution. This was made known yesterday by the spokesman of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya.

He said Gov. Nasir El-Rufai should be credited for the new act passed last month. On the anti hawking law, he "We have also passed a bill into law to checkmate hawkers who deprive people from owning shops."

Appeal Court Dismisses Nnamdi Kanu's Appeal

According to Vanguard, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, dismissed the appeal that was lodged before it by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

Nigeria To Sign Visa-free Pact With These 8 Countries

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, says plans have been concluded to sign visa-free pacts with a bloc of eight African countries to promote economic partnership on the continent.

Onyeama announced this in Abuja on Tuesday at a news confernce to mark one year of President Mohammadu Buhari’s Administration.

The minister, who did not disclose the names of the countries making up the bloc, noted with concern that trading among African countries had been very low.

He, however, said that with the new idea by the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration, “it is expected that there will be upsurge in economic activities.
