Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried along the road linking new Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in Borno, have been cleared, the army said in a statement.
Col. Tukur Gusau, the Media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, in Maiduguri on Wednesday said: “The 5 Brigade of the Nigerian Army after clearing Boko Haram terrorist camps in Kerenowa in Borno, has also embarked on clearance of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried along the road that links New Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in the state.
Gusau added that “The troops have also been working tirelessly to destroy all IEDs making facilities found in the area.” He also said that the troops had also arrested five suspected terrorists in another operation in Gudunbali in Baga Local Government Area.
The statement stated that troops of 115 Task Force Battalion under 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force have arrested five fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists and family of a terrorist after they were abandoned due to military offensive.
